On July 7, 2009, the Department of Public Facilities relocated to the new Samuel Hadley Public Services Building at 201 Bedford Street. A public Open House, with tours of the building, was held on Saturday, September 26.

Description of Services
The Department of Public Facilities (DPF) is a new department within the town of Lexington created by joint resolution of the Municipal and School Departments and approved by Town Meeting in 2007.
The Department of Public Facilities is responsible for the coordination and care of all Town-owned buildings inclusive of those under the control of the Board of Selectmen, Town Manager, Library Trustees and the School Committee. All costs for maintenance, capital project management, utilities and building rentals are contained within this department.
Department staff coordinate:
custodial care/cleaning
- maintenance and repairs
- landscaping and pedestrian snow removal (School buildings only)
- capital improvements
