Description of Services:

The Health Division works with the Board of Health (the appointed decision- making body) to:

  • Assess the health needs of the town; 
  • Develop initiatives to protect the public health;
  • Monitor communicable and infectious disease;
  • Provide annual flu vaccine clinics;
  • Respond to general nuisance complaints;
  • Respond to housing complaints;
  • Inspect summer camps for children
  • Monitor mosquito control programs;
  • Inspect semi-public swimming pools;
  • Monitor the "Old Reservoir" swimming beach;
  • Inspect food establishments;
  • Staff the household hazardous and medical waste collection programs;
  • Manage a Medical Reserve Corps; and
  • Participate in Emergency Preparedness Planning with other agencies in town.
