Senior Health Outreach Programs: Nursing consultation, home visits and assessments.

Blood Pressure Screenings offered in conjunction with the Fire Department and Firefighters Local 1491.
- Nutrition/Meals on Wheels: The Senior Center's nutrition program offers lunch daily for a donation of $3.00, with monthly parties celebrating holidays, birthdays and special events. For individuals who have difficulty shopping and cooking on their own, Meals on Wheels are home delivered daily by volunteers

Senior Service Program: Seniors volunteer to work for town and school departments in exchange for property tax abatements.

Friend to Friend: A program that offers friendly visits and assistance with shopping.

Community Action Groups: The Social Services Department is also host to a variety of community action groups, which include: the Enablement Committee--advocacy, support for people with disabilities; the Fair Housing and Human Relations Committee and the Human Services Committee.
Senior Center:
Activities for citizens 60 years of age and older and those with disabilities, are found at the Lexington Senior Center, 1475 Massachusetts Avenue. Activities at the Senior Center are supported by the Council on Aging Board, appointed by the Town Manager, and the Friends of the Council on Aging, a group who raises funds and provides other support to the organization. The newsletter is published monthly, and all citizens 60 and older are on the mailing list. For a schedule of this month's events and groups click on the Newsletter link in the left hand column.
Programming includes:

Classes/Shared Interests Groups: Extensive programming is offered at the Senior Center, including volunteer led shared interest groups, fee-for-service classes, exercise and games.

Finance/Health: Professionals in the fields of health and finance lecture regularly. Podiatry services available.

Travel: Day and overnight trips to places of interest in the Boston and New England area.

Library/Fix-It Shop: A library, a video rental, and a Fix-It Shop, whose volunteers repair household items for the community.

AARP Income Tax Assistance: Offered by trained volunteers during February, March and April.

Medical Insurance Counseling: Offered by professionally trained SHINE counselors, through Minuteman Senior Services.

Support Groups Offering may include: Bereavement, Parkinson's, Prostate Cancer and Caregiver Support.
